Google Chrome Takes 20% Browser Share

New data captured by statcounter suggest the Google Chrome Web Browser has now captured a 20% market share of global browser usage, up from just under 10% on the same time last year.

Microsoft's Internet Explorer still dominates the market but has seen it's share drop from 52% to 43%.  As the steady rise of users switching from other browsers to Google Chrome continues, we can imagine there's much conflab going on in the IE and Firefox camps on how to quell the rise of the Chrome Browser.

Safari and Opera remain the 4th and 5th most used browsers and with Google integrating more and more services with their browser it's easy to see their run continuing.
